Welcome to Zachary Gardner's Railroad Picture Archives!

Front Page Pic Welcome to the RRPictureArchives.NET contributor site of Zachary Gardner.

Thanks to my grandpa I grew up around trains.  Him and Grandma would take my brother and I to places like Tehachapi Loop and the Cajon Pass.  Those were the days when Southern Pacific Still existed and at once even tried to join forces with Santa Fe.  We used to call Southern Pacific the "Bloody Nose Train".  Grandpa even got me addicted to model trains, I now model HO scale.  Last year I bought a digital camera and I can't put it down.  Everywhere I go, it goes with me.

For College I left Southern California to go to Montana State Univesity.  I found that Montana had some great history of the old Northwesten railroads that I only read about.  While there I tried to take time out of my school schedule to railfan.  One of my favorite places to see was the Mullan Pass.  Such a great place to see trains conquer the Rocky Mountains.  I was only able to go there twice, and my luck was not good.  The first time I did not see but one train.  Then the second time I just about got in a fight with a nother guy who decided to set up his camera right in front of me.  He then told my buddy and I to shut up, for he was going to roll film.  The same trip I thought that my truck was SCORE worthy as I hit the trails up there a little hard and shorted out my battery.  the short then messed up my computer system and I then was suck on the side of the mountain.  To end a bad trip, my pictures somehow have been erased from my computer and I can't find them.

Now I am back in California and I have little to no time to railfan.  Pomona is where Union Pacific runs so on the way home from work, if there is still some daylight, I will try to catch a train or two.

Here is most of my pictures that I have been able to upload.  I hope that they will help others as other's have helped me injoy my life of trains.  Now that I have a 2 1/2 year old son, I have a new way of enjoying trains, by teaching him.  It's going to be great!
